This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Mattawamkeag River - West Branch; why not camp at Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds while you're here at Long Lake. Colbroth Brook is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting; soar down the rapids of Mattawamkeag River - East Branch in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is       Spaulding Lake; don't leave Long Lake without first going for a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road. An average amount of rainfall falls at Long Lake; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest. Clark Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit, and Bear Mountain Lodge is a pleasant local campground. All through the months of summer highs here at Long Lake reach the 70's. Once                  the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Long Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. So many amusing things in close proximity to Long Lake, simply mind-boggling.
