Locke Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Pond Campground is a delightful local campground, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Robinson Pond is just a very short distance away. A fine place to camp here at Locke Pond is Nor-40 Campground; whitewater paddling is great on Wilson Stream. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Titcomb, and if you're visiting from Lewiston-Auburn,

| | you won't be the only one. A golf course next to Locke Pond is Wilson Lake Country Club, and Wilson Lake Inn is a brilliant site to get some rest. Throughout the summer at Locke Pond highs are generally in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. here at Locke Pond; it's nearby, and on a gorgeous day you acquire a fine sight of Zion Hill from Locke Pond. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Locke Pond. Huckleberry Stream flows through this
vicinity, and do take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Locke Pond a wet spot; November is when you get the most rain here while February is regularly the driest month. Paddling on Sandy River is so much fun; a great close by hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites.

Eaton Mountain
 | 29 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
