Camping at Shin Pond Village Campground is always a great experience; a fine nearby hotel is Patten Motel. If you're here at Little Sawtelle Pond, you could go to Jones Brook, and Little Sawtelle Pond is right by the Matagamon Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. Little Sawtelle Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a delightful local campground, and in the       event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Millinocket Stream. The Millinocket Lake Tote Road offers hiking at its best. Man, is there lots of cool things to do near Little Sawtelle Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Boody Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Mt Chase Lodge & Country Inn is a fine choice.
