Little Machias Lake is a good location of normal rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Mystic Acres Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Little Machias Lake; Round Trail is a perfect local trail. Libby's Sporting Camps is a delightful campground nearby, and there's glorious hiking along the Webster       Brook Tote Road. Summer at Little Machias Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's with temperatures at Little Machias Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Island Pond Trail, and get soaked paddling on Machias River.
