Why not camp at Old Mill Camping Area while you're here at Little Lane Pond, and Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a nice place to get some rest. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Penobscot River - South Branch, and at Little Lane Pond you can make out Truesdale Mountain. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Little Lane Pond; July is when you get the most rain here;       the driest month is February. If you come at the right time of year, Penobscot River - North Branch offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Seboomook wilderness Campground is a splendid local campground; going for a hike along the Alder Brook Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. At Little Lane Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
