Near Little Kennebago Lake you stumble on the Arnold Pond Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and Little Kennebago Lake is not the only site close by, Kennebago River Reservoir is a close by lake. Get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Dead River - North Branch; the Morrell Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is delightful here at Little Kennebago Lake, you can go for a hike along the Milrose Trail; Little Kennebago Lake is a fine location to visit for more than one day, North Camps is a fine location to camp nearby. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Little Kennebago Lake while night lows are frequently in the 50's. and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Little Kennebago Lake temperatures plunge to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Little Kennebago Lake you obtain some delightful water scenery at Lower Station Dam, unsurprisingly
you could also stop at Kennebago Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Little Kennebago Lake commonly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February.
Everybody nearby loves skiing at Black Mountain, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Kennebago River. It's a great idea to go to Bear Brook, it's right next door to Little Kennebago Lake, and Cupsuptic Campground is a good campground nearby.

 | 14 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
