Do stop by Jose Pond right next door to Little Jose Pond, it's a delightful lake; glide down the rapids of Sheepscot River - West Branch in a kayak. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. At Branch Pond Dam right next door to Little Jose Pond there are some exciting things to see, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Waterville Inn. From a precipitation point of view Little Jose Pond is a reasonably typical spot; most of the rain falls through

| | November; February is when it's the driest. Camping is available at Town Line Campsites, and Holiday Inn WATERVILLE is a nice location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of folks from Augusta-Waterville here at Little Jose Pond; while you're here, you could also check out gorgeous Branch Pond. Eaton Mountain
 | 24 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
