The Arnold Pond Trail is a delightful hiking trail close to Little Island Pond, also Beaver Pond Dam is worth going to if you're here. Looking for something close to Little Island Pond? Long Pond is around here, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Morrell Trail. Get wet paddling on Kennebago River, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Saddleback. For the period of the warm days of summer at Little

| | Island Pond highs are frequently in the 70's; the night is somewhat colder of course, commonly in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Little Island Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Dead River - North Branch; if you're here you can take a hike along the Arnold Trail. Camping at Cathedral Pines Camping Area is always a perfect experience.  | 12 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
