Little Island Pond is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Camping at Cathedral Pines Camping Area is always a brilliant experience, and there's whitewater on Dead River - North Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. The Arnold Trail is a nice hiking trail near Little Island Pond, and camping       is available at Cupsuptic Campground. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Saddleback; going for a hike on the Arnold Pond Trail is always a great adventure. Beaver Pond Dam is not far at all from Little Island Pond, needless to say you could also stop by L Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. All the outdoors entertaining things in the neighborhood of Little Island Pond will keep you coming back many times.                  Near Little Island Pond you stumble on the Morrell Trail which is a great hiking trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Kennebago River. During the long summer days at Little Island Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's.
