Get yourself into a kayak and hit Dead River - South Branch, and Third Greely Pond is a brilliant lake nearby. What a place this is for outdoors folks. The yearly precipitation here at Little Greely Pond is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.

is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Little Greely Pond plunge into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. There are fine spots to explore along the Bemis Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Dead River -
South Branch. If you came to camp North Camps is a great place to do that. There's so much to do here at Little Greely Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Black Brook Cove Campground is a great location for that.

Bugeye Pond
 | 13 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
