Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a tremendous local campground, and there's magnificent hiking along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road. Caribou Brook is a good place to explore; you can go for a hike on the Eagle Lake Tote Road. Little Caribou Pond gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. At Little Caribou Pond       during the months of summer highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Little Caribou Pond sink into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Katahdin Inn is a delightful choice, and don't leave Little Caribou Pond without first going for a hike along the Freezeout Road. Get yourself into a kayak and                  hit Munsungan Stream; if you came for an overnight stay South Branch Pond Campground is a perfect location to camp. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Little Caribou Pond.
