On a glorious day at Lewis Pond you can take a hike along the Chase Carry; after a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great place to spend a night or two. While you're here at Lewis Pond you can take a hike along the Telephone Trail. Lewis Pond is a good location of typical rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is       February. The Carry Trail is a fine hiking trail next to Lewis Pond, and there's whitewater on Allagash River for all you adrenaline junkies. A glorious panorama of lovely Soper Mountain is available from Lewis Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Smith Brook. Through the warmest time of the year at Lewis Pond highs are usually in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 50's.
