Spider Lake is a lake around here, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Musquacook Stream. Lakes are magnificent; Lower Portage Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Leadbetter Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Smith Brook is a fine whitewater spot right next door to Leadbetter Pond,       and the Telephone Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by. This place, Leadbetter Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors fun stuff. From a rain point of view Leadbetter Pond is a pretty typical spot; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. Near Leadbetter Pond you come across the Chase Carry which is a tremendous hiking trail, and going for a hike on the Carry                  Trail is always a fine adventure. Through the warm months at Leadbetter Pond temperatures are frequently in the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's.
