the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Ducktrap River close to Lawson Quarry Pond,
and you should explore Carvers Cove when you're here. So many entertaining things to do at Lawson Quarry Pond, so little time. You can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Camden. Lakes? Sure, Carvers Pond is in the neighborhood.
This lake is so wonderful. Beaches are great; and Clayfers Beach near Lawson Quarry Pond is no exception, and Whitehall Inn is a wonderful site to get some rest. After a long day outdoors Camden Harbour Inn is a glorious site to spend
a night or two, and Duck Harbor Campground is a fine local campground. All through the summer months highs here at Lawson Quarry Pond reach the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the
50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Lawson Quarry Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.

Lobster Buoy Campsite
 | 19 miles away My family and I camped at Lobster Buoy when I was 13. So many years ago....and so many memories.We were visiting my son, Matt, last May and got lost. I noticed a sign by the road and rememberred the turn. It was as beautiful and for a short while I was young again....I have been going to Lobster Buoy in South Thomaston, ME almost every summer for the past 20 years. It's my family's favorite campsite. Small, family friendly but not with the luxuries you find at other campgrounds - which is the whole point of camping! There's beaches to explore, boats to rent, the Lobster Festival in Rockland, several lighthouses nearby like Owlhead just up the road and Marshall Point in Port Clyde - which, by the way, is the lighthouse that Forrest Gump runs up on his cross-country run! So many fun things to do, and lots of peace and quiet with a huge beach make for a great campsite for those who want to get away and spend time outdoors. ... |
