Do check out Big Island Pond near L Pond, it's a delightful lake, and pleasant hiking is available along the Morrell Trail. You can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Saddleback. Hiking is a popular thing to do around L Pond; Arnold Pond Trail is a good local trail, and why not camp at Cathedral Pines Camping Area since you're here at L Pond. The Arnold Trail offers hiking at its best, and there's whitewater on Kennebago River for all you thrill seekers. overnight stay Cupsuptic Campground is a good location to camp. All through the warm months highs here at L Pond reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at L Pond fall into the-10's.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
