Beautiful L Pond has much to offer visitors. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Kennebago River, and one of the principal marks of the surroundings of L Pond is Boil Mountain. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Go for a hike on the Arnold Pond Trail, and you'll come across a delightful lake called Big Island Pond. | | an overnight stay Cupsuptic Campground is a magnificent place to camp, and going for a hike on the Morrell Trail is always a magnificent adventure. L Pond typically gets a great deal of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. throughout the wintertime for L Pond tend to be in the-10's. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dead River - North Branch; camping is available at Cathedral Pines Camping Area. This lake
is so wonderful. The slopes of Saddleback are so inviting nobody can resist, and great hiking is available along the Arnold Trail.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
