Lakes are such serene sites, why not stop at Yarmouth Reservoir in close proximity to Knights Pond, and Howard Johnson Hotel is a magnificent place to get some rest. Knights Pond gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is September. So much entertaining stuff to do at Knights Pond, so little time.       Blanchard Pond is a great lake in the neighborhood of Knights Pond, and the great people of Portland-South Portland like to hang out nearby. At Knights Pond throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Knights Pond fall into the 10's. Knights Pond is a pleasant place to visit for more than                  one day, Twin Brooks Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is good on Chandler Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Toddy Brook Golf Course is a great golf course close by, and get wet paddling on Royal River. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Knights Pond Dam to take a look at next to Knights Pond. If you need a place to stay Best Western Freeport Inn is a splendid choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Knights Pond has to offer, you can camp at A Vacationland Campground.
