A pretty lake like Mayfield Pond next to Kingsbury Pond is a good site to go to, and Bingham Motor Inn is a fine spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Balsam woods Campground is a great location to camp, and at Kingsbury Pond you can observe Whittier Hill. Get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Kingsbury Stream, and Breezy Acres is a good local campground. For the duration of the summer here at

a night or two. Swamps like Potter Bog near Kingsbury Pond make for good places to explore, and the snow is glorious at Eaton Mountain. The high level of rainfall makes Kingsbury Pond a reasonably wet location; July is the wettest
month with most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The Intake Trail is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Kingsbury Pond, and you'll hit upon a scenic lake
called Otter Pond. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Kingsbury Pond is Piscataquis River - West Branch, and why not pop by Kingsbury Dam while you're here.

Eaton Mountain

The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
