Katahdin Inn is a good place to get some rest, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Haskell Rock Pitch. Summertime highs at Kimball Pond usually tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Kimball Pond. Near Kimball Pond you hit upon the Matagamon       Tote Road which is a glorious hiking trail, and Kimball Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a great local campground. Kimball Pond is a good spot of normal rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and February is when it's the driest. Going for a hike on the Spring Brook Trail is always a splendid adventure; paddling on Penobscot River - East Branch is so much fun. You could also check out Haskell                  Deadwater if you're here at Kimball Pond; it's nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There is a perfect hiking trail near Kimball Pond called the Jerry Pond Tote Road; get dripping wet paddling on Seboeis River. What a spot this is for outdoors folks.
