     Kimball Pond is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. There are perfect places to explore along the Matagamon Tote Road, and if you need a location to stay Katahdin Inn is a fine choice. Through the warmest time of the year here at Kimball Pond, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Kimball  
   Pond temperatures fall to the-10's. All the outdoors cool stuff near Kimball Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Going for a hike on the Jerry Pond Tote Road is always a fine adventure. There's so much to do here at Kimball Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a wonderful place for that.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Kimball Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year July is
 
               the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Penobscot River - East Branch, and Grand Lake Matagamon is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.
If you came to camp South Branch Pond Campground is a pleasant place to do that; if you come at the right time of year, Seboeis River offers some tremendous whitewater. A trip to Kimball Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Haskell Rock Pitch, and you can go for a hike on the Spring Brook Trail.
