Dry warm beds await you at Winthrop Motel; Boody Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Kidder Pond is a pleasant spot to visit for more than one day, Camp Laurel is a pleasant spot to camp nearby, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Augusta-Waterville. This lake is so wonderful. Five Seasons Campground is a good local campground; John Brown Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Kidder Pond. Throughout the long summer days highs

| | here at Kidder Pond get into the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 20's with temperatures at Kidder Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Kidder Pond is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. Pond. A pleasant location for whitewater paddling near Kidder Pond is Wilson Stream, and everyone close by loves skiing at Titcomb. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Sandy River close to Kidder Pond. Have a
fine hiking adventure along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a tremendous choice. While you're here at Kidder Pond, you could also pop by pretty McIntire Pond, and hey, Gotta ski right? Eaton Mountain is a pleasant spot to do that.

Eaton Mountain
 | 19 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
