A tour to Robbins Point near Kezar Pond is always a good idea, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Winthrop Motel. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kezar Pond a wet place; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Carlton Pond is around here, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Kezar Pond is a

| | site with many visitors from Augusta-Waterville, and after a long day outdoors Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Kezar Pond, and the night is quite chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's while Kezar Pond night low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. back home again. Kezar Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Laurel is a magnificent local campground; Carleton Pond Dam is not far at all from Kezar Pond. If you came to camp Augusta West Lakeside Resort is
a good location to do that; Packards Ledge is another perfect place to check out close by. This lake is so wonderful. Upper Narrows Pond is a brilliant lake near Kezar Pond. Take a side spree to Kezar Brook, and there are some great whitewater spots on Cobbosseecontee Stream.

There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice.... |
Eaton Mountain
 | 26 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
