Oxford House Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and Mount Abram is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Keys Pond gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is September. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Pleasant Mountain Inn is a splendid choice, and get covered with water paddling on Crooked River. During the summer months
at Keys Pond highs are ordinarily in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Keys Pond plunge into the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid places to explore along the Albany Brook Trail, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Black Pond is one of those close by. Lakeside Pines Campground is a good campground nearby,

and if you've had enough of Keys Pond, Webber Pond is close by. Go for a hike on the Albany Mountain Trail; Shawnee Peak has nice slopes and a friendly staff.
Some of the water close by flows, like Cold Brook, and the peak of Clough Hill can be distinguished from Keys Pond. So many fun things to do at Keys Pond, so little time. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Crooked River, and enjoy a round of golf at Bridgton Highlands Country Club. This site is unbeatable, just look at all the cool stuff to do near Keys Pond.
If you came for an overnight stay Kezar Lake Camping Area is a brilliant spot to camp, and don't leave Keys Pond without first going for a hike along the Albany Notch Trail.

Crooked River
17 miles away
My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage....

Wild River Campground
18 miles away
Great tent sites, quiet, extraordinarily clean bathrooms, potable water, caretakers are very nice, good starting point for hiking Moriah Brook to Mt. Moriah across to Shelburne Moriah and back to the campground....

West Pond
19 miles away
West Pond is a truly special place, in the foothils of Mr. Washington. As you approach the pond from the South on Rt. 160, you are met by a breathtaking view of Mt. Washington which is 40 miles away. The water in west pond is crystal clear, and you can often hear the loons. There is a large area around the pond that is protected in tree growth, so the pond will never face additional stress of building. There is also no public access for boats, and that keeps it quiet and free of the kind of noise and congestion you see in popular lakes elsewhere....

Cranmore Mountain
22 miles away
I have skied at Cranmore many times. The Mountain isn't huge, but has a good 1,200 vertical drop. There is plenty of trails for everyone, including a nice, long beginner run from the summit to the base. Cranmore has lots of steep runs too! The best thing ...
