If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn WATERVILLE is a great choice, and Foster Pond is a fine lake nearby. From a precipitation point of view Jump Pond is a reasonably common spot; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Waterville Inn is a great place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Jump Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cozy Pines Campground

In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sheepscot River. A delightful lake like Bowler Pond near Jump Pond is a good location to stop by. Eaton Mountain
 | 28 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
