Summer brings highs in the 70's to Jones Pond with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Jones Pond. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Jones Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Dority Pond, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Bald Mountain Trail. This lake       is so wonderful. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling near Jones Pond is Penobscot River - South Branch, and you can stay the night at Jackman Landing Campground. If you need a spot to stay Bingham Motor Inn is a glorious choice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Jones Pond has to offer, you can camp at Moose River Campground. Near Jones Pond you hit upon the Alder Brook Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and you can run the rapids                  of Penobscot River - South Branch. Going for a hike on the Sally Mountain Trail is always a nice adventure, and needless to say, this is a delightful neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Hale Pond is a lake close by.
