If you come at the right time of year, Munsungan Stream offers some good whitewater, and camping is available at Matagamon Wilderness Campground. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Jones Pond. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Jones Pond are in the-10's. Why not take       a refreshing hike along the Millinocket Lake Tote Road, and if you came for an overnight stay Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a great site to camp. Drift down the rapids of Millinocket Stream in a kayak, and Jones Pond is right by the Matagamon Tote Road. This place, Jones Pond, it simply has so much outdoors cool stuff. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road is nice fun, and dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn.
