Jones Pond is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground is a splendid site to do that. Just can't get enough of Jones Pond. The Horns Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and Dead River - South Branch has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Summer at Jones Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. | | with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Jones Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. The Piazza Rock Trail offers hiking at its best, and the slopes of Sugarloaf USA are so inviting noone can resist. Gotta ski! Saddleback is a magnificent site to do that; since you're here, you could also stop at charming Cranberry Pond. There's magnificent hiking along the Fire Warden Trail, and why not take a little trip to Stoney Brook since you're here. | |

An average amount of rainfall falls at Jones Pond; the wettest month of the year is frequently November, that's the one that snows the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. Jones Pond is delightful enough to spend more
than a day at, Black Arrow Lodge is a delightful local campground; the vista of Cranberry Peak is pretty. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Jones Pond without first going for a hike along the Bigelow Range Trail; paddling on Parlin Pond Stream is so much fun.

Bugeye Pond
 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
