Johnson Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, My Brothers Place is a splendid local campground, and B Stream is a great whitewater spot close by. Bigrock has splendid slopes and a friendly staff, and a nice location for whitewater paddling is Meduxnekeag River - South Branch. There's fine hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road, and don't leave Johnson Pond without       first going for a hike along the Pierce Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Johnson Pond usually tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Johnson Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Scottish Inns Houlton is a good location to get some rest, and since you're                  here and you like golf, you can pop by Houlton Community Golf Course. Camping at Wilde Pines Campground is always a perfect experience; after a long day outdoors Shiretown Motor Inn is a glorious site to spend a night or two. Freeze Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting, and you can go for a hike on the Potters Trail.
