     A perfect nearby hotel is Homestead Motel and Cottages, and the Blue Hill Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. Near John Gray Pond you discover the Old Cove Trail which is a great hiking trail, and camping at Sunshine Campground is always a fine experience. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Robin Hood Camp is a magnificent spot to do that, and get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Blue Hill Falls. This lake is so wonderful. Going  
   for a hike on the Sawyer Notch Trail is always a great adventure, naturally you could also explore Black Pond while you're here; it's not far at all.
Through the long summer days here at John Gray Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for John Gray Pond. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are really plentiful here

Wooded lakeside campground with water activities, game room, store, laundry, free hot showers and free Wi-Fi.  Relax by your campfire or explore Bar Harbor, 26 miles away.  Ft. Knox in Bucksport is only 5 miles south. We are located on Toddy Pond, a 10 mile lake with great fishing and boating.  The lake offers pickerel, large mouth bass, trout, sun fish, salmon and more. We have powered pontoon boats, fishing boat rentals, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.  We are a family campground.  Pets are welcome at an extra cost. Friday night is movie night.  Saturday morning arts and crafts for children, Saturday afternoons Candy Bingo and Saturday night bonfire at the waterfront (weather permitting). Hay rides both Friday and Saturday nights.
