     Herbert Grand Hotel is a nice place to get some rest, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sugarloaf USA. This lake is so wonderful. Why not go to Spencer Stream Dam since you're here; camping is available at King & Bartlett Lake Camp. Go for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail, and not far from Joe Pokum Pond you'll locate Spencer Stream which is a stunning lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Joe Pokum Pond; Sally Mountain Trail  
   is a delightful local trail, and you can hit the slopes at Saddleback in the neighborhood.
Summertime highs at Joe Pokum Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's while night lows are typically in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Joe Pokum Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Parlin Pond Stream,
 
               and camping at Black Arrow Lodge is always a wonderful experience. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining stuff just keep reading. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Spencer Stream, and unsurprisingly Kibby Stream is a scenic stream that is worth stopping at.
Good hiking is available along the Fire Warden Trail, and there are other places here than Joe Pokum Pond, for example Deer Pond. An average amount of precipitation falls at Joe Pokum Pond; July is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
