Herbert Grand Hotel is a nice place to get some rest, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sugarloaf USA. This lake is so wonderful. Why not go to Spencer Stream Dam since you're here; camping is available at King & Bartlett Lake Camp. Go for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail, and not far from Joe Pokum Pond you'll locate Spencer Stream which is a stunning lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Joe Pokum Pond; Sally Mountain Trail

Summertime highs at Joe Pokum Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's while night lows are typically in the 50's.  | 14 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
