The Jerry Pond Tote Road offers hiking at its best, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Penobscot River - East Branch. Through the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 70's at Jerry Pond; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are mostly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Jerry Pond are in the-10's. Be careful coming to Jerry Pond, you might not       ever want to go home again. The amount of precipitation that falls at Jerry Pond is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Shin Pond Village Campground is always a fine experience; Jerry Pond is right by the Matagamon Tote Road. Jerry Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a nice local campground; after a long                  day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a perfect location to spend a night or two.
