James Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Sheepscot Pond Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out; during your spree here you'll meet some folks from Augusta-Waterville for sure. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Waterville,Me is a perfect choice, and while you're here, you could also explore scenic Sheepscot Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Turner Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and Best Western

| | Waterville Inn is a fine place to get some rest. This place is excellent, just look at all the exciting things to do next to James Pond. One of the principal features of the surroundings of James Pond is Crummett Mountain, and if you came to camp Pine Ridge Campgrounds is a wonderful site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Jones Brook. Through the summertime months highs here at James Pond get into the 80's; the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's, and winter nights come with
lows in the 0's to James Pond. There's so much to do here at James Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Town Line Campsites is a delightful site for that, and in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sheepscot River.

Eaton Mountain
 | 27 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
