     This lake is so wonderful. At Jackson Pond you can see Jackson Mountain, and Jackson Pond is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Dummer's Beach is a delightful site to camp nearby. Tumbledown Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and going for a hike on the Chimney Trail is always a fine adventure.
That right there is a lot of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the White Mountains has it all. Coos Canyon Cabins and Campground is a
 
   magnificent local campground; close by you stumble on the Brook Trail which is a good hiking trail. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the White Mountains. There's whitewater on Sandy River - South Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and after a long day outdoors Wilson Lake Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Black Mountain is a magnificent local ski area, and a wonderful  
               nearby hotel is The Perennial Inn.
The yearly precipitation here at Jackson Pond is about average; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Saddleback is in the vicinity of Jackson Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Piazza Rock Trail. The White Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
What a location this is for outdoors folks. There are some fine whitewater spots on Sandy River, and if you get bored of Jackson Pond you could also stop at close by Muskrat Pond. At Jackson Pond through the days of summer highs are in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's; nighttime lows through the winter for Jackson Pond tend to be in the-10's.

Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far  the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention....
