    Go to Jack Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Going for a hike along the Freezeout Road will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. If you come at the right time of year, Munsungan Stream offers some delightful whitewater; you can distinguish South Ridge from Jack Pond. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Jack Pond, you could also stop at charming Little Caribou Pond, and hiking along the Eagle Lake Tote Road is glorious fun.
Summertime
 
   highs at Jack Pond generally tend to be in the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Jack Pond fall into the-10's. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Soar down the rapids of Webster Brook in a kayak, and do stop at Big Caribou Pond, it's a striking lake. Jack Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Matagamon  
               Wilderness Campground is a delightful local campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road.
There's so much to do here at Jack Pond that you need to camp here for a while, South Branch Pond Campground is a fine spot for that, and Katahdin Inn is a good spot to get some rest. Jack Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; during July this area sees the most rain while February is typically the driest month.
