    Why not stop by Jack Pond if you're passing through these parts. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Jack Pond. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Jack Pond temperatures descend to the-10's. Paddling on Munsungan Stream is so much fun, and South Branch Pond Campground is a splendid campground nearby. A typical amount of precipitation  
   falls here at Jack Pond; most of the rain falls through July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Whitewater paddling is great on Webster Brook, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Jack Pond; Eagle Lake Tote Road is a glorious local trail. Jack Pond is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a good spot to camp nearby, and the Freezeout Road offers hiking at its best. Jack Pond truly
 
               is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. After a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. The peak of South Ridge can be made out from Jack Pond; Jack Pond is right by the Munsungan Lake Tote Road.
