Isthmus Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Good hiking is available along the Matagamon Tote Road; Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a great local campground. Throughout the summertime at Isthmus Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. High       temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Isthmus Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Time spent at Gilman Beach near Isthmus Pond is always good; in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Munsungan Stream. What a location this is for outdoors folks. There are nice places to look at along the Millinocket Lake Tote Road, and if you came for an overnight                  stay Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a fine spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Isthmus Pond without first going for a hike along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road, and do stop by Little Mooseleuk Stream since you're here at Isthmus Pond.
