Isthmus Pond is right by the Matagamon Tote Road, and you'll stumble on a pretty lake called Jones Pond. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Isthmus Pond; during the month of July you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. For the period of the summertime months at Isthmus Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's, and the overnight is rather colder       of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's, and night lows during the wintertime for Isthmus Pond tend to be in the-10's. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Isthmus Pond has it all. If you're looking for a beach right next door to Isthmus Pond, we recommend Gilman Beach, and Isthmus Pond is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a splendid place to camp                  nearby. Looking for some flowing water? Try Little Mooseleuk Stream. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Isthmus Pond has to offer, you can camp at Umcolcus Sporting Camps. Paddling on Munsungan Stream is so much fun, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not pop by Boody Pond. If you need a location to stay Katahdin Inn is a good choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Isthmus Pond; Millinocket Lake Tote Road is a fine local trail. This lake is so wonderful.
