Lots of precipitation falls at Island Pond; during the month of November you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. After a long day outdoors Winthrop Motel is a good place to spend a night or two, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream. For the period of the summertime highs here at Island Pond get into the 70's while nighttime lows       are frequently in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Island Pond descend into the 0's. People from Lewiston-Auburn love to come to Island Pond, and why not camp at Beaver Brook Campground while you're here at Island Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid spots to discover along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Nezinscot River is a great whitewater spot                  close by. Having a nice time at Island Pond is uncomplicated. If you came for an overnight stay Riverbend Campground is a nice site to camp, and since you're here you can play some golf at Springbrook Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Lost Valley is near Island Pond; dry warm beds await you at Travel Inn.
