You'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Bonny Pond near Island Pond; in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Nezinscot River. Do take a look at Cochnewagon Lake in close proximity to Island Pond, it's a charming lake, and whitewater paddling is great on Cobbosseecontee Stream. Island Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Riverbend Campground is a great local campground, and Norris Hill can be distinguished

| | from Island Pond. For the period of the summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Island Pond with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Island Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. Springbrook Golf Club. Hit the slopes at Lost Valley in close proximity, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Island Pond; Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a delightful local trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so
much to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Brook Campground is a great spot for that, and Winthrop Motel is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors
Travel Inn is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. Island Pond gets a lot of water; through the month of November you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice.... |
