The annual precipitation here at Intake Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Don't forget to take a delightful little tour to Little Squaw Brook, and in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kennebec River - East Outlet. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Intake Pond; Big Squaw       Mountain Trail is a nice local trail, and Piscataquis River - East Branch is a nice whitewater spot close by. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do near Intake Pond. If you need a spot to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a tremendous choice, and Intake Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a tremendous local campground. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Intake Pond that                  you need to camp here for a while, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a great place for that; at Intake Pond you can see Little Squaw Mountain. Not far from Intake Pond, you'll discover Big Squaw Pond which is a picturesque lake; a wonderful close by hotel is Bingham Motor Inn. At Intake Pond during the warm months highs are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Intake Pond fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
