New Hermon Mountain has splendid slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hurd Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Branch Lake Camping Area is a nice site for that, and a perfect nearby hotel is Homestead Motel and Cottages. Phillips Lake Dam has good water scenery and it's near Hurd Pond; the Blue Hill Trail offers hiking at its       best. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Hurd Pond. On a beautiful day you acquire a vista of Button Hill from Hurd Pond; glorious hiking is available along the Bald Mountain Trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Penobscot River; there are other sites here than Hurd Pond, for example Saulter Pond. The yearly rain here at Hurd Pond is about average; through November this area sees the most rain while February is                  the month with the least amount of precipitation. Golf can be played at Lucerne Golf Course, and glide down the rapids of Narramissic River in a kayak. All through the months of summer here at Hurd Pond, high temperatures commonly reach the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 50's.
