This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Hunter Pond without first going for a hike along the Potters Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a perfect choice. There's magnificent hiking along the Pierce Tote Road, and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Meduxnekeag River - South Branch. If you came to camp My Brothers Place is a perfect place       to do that, and needless to say Foss Brook flows through this vicinity. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hunter Pond; Kennedy Tote Road is a delightful local trail; a nice close by hotel is Shiretown Motor Inn. Hit the slopes at Bigrock nearby. The amount of rainfall that falls at Hunter Pond is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If only every                  site had this much outdoors fun things, what a great earth it would be. Camping at Wilde Pines Campground is always a tremendous experience, and you can run the rapids of B Stream. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Hunter Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's.
