| | Spencer Stream; if you're here you can take a hike along the Sally Mountain Trail. Horseshoe Pond is a good spot of typical rain; the month with most of the rain is July while February is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Fire Warden Trail is glorious fun; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Gore Rapids. Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Black Arrow Lodge is a delightful local campground, and you can run the rapids of Spencer Stream. Summertime highs at Horseshoe Pond commonly tend to be in the 70's while
nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Horseshoe Pond temperatures drop to the-10's. Have a good hiking adventure along the Bigelow Range Trail; a delightful place to camp here at Horseshoe Pond is King & Bartlett Lake Camp.

 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
