Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Horseshoe Pond. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a fine location to spend a night or two, and Big Wilson Stream has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail near Horseshoe Pond called the Northwest Ridge Road, and whitewater paddling is great on Ship Pond Stream. The Gulf Hagas
 
               Trail is a perfect hiking trail close to Horseshoe Pond, and you're possibly addicted to lakes, Big Bennett Pond is one of those nearby.
Near Horseshoe Pond you locate the Number Four Mountain Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and delightful skiing awaits you at Big Squaw. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Horseshoe Pond highs are mostly in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 20's while Horseshoe Pond night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's. On a great day you can check out Long Bog, a swamp in the neighborhood of Horseshoe Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Horseshoe Pond has to offer, you can camp at Balsam woods Campground.
