If you come at the right time of year, Big Wilson Stream offers some brilliant whitewater, and lakes are such serene spots, why not visit Poverty Pond. On a great day at Horseshoe Pond you can take a hike along the Northwest Ridge Road,       and camping at Balsam woods Campground is always a splendid experience. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Ship Pond Stream, and you'll discover a delightful lake called Fourth Davis Pond. The amount of rain that falls at Horseshoe Pond is close to the national average; most of the rain falls through July; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a perfect choice,                  and the skiing at Big Squaw is good. Why not stop by nearby Davis Brook if you're here at Horseshoe Pond, and the Number Four Mountain Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. At Horseshoe Pond throughout the summertime months highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Horseshoe Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
