A great swamp right next door to Horseshoe Pond is Swimming Bog, and why not take a little tour to Kezar River since you're here. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Horseshoe Pond; Cold Brook Trail is a great local trail; get wet paddling on Ossipee River. Cranmore Mountain is a magnificent local ski area, and Oxford House Inn is a good place to get some rest. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Horseshoe Pond. This lake is so wonderful.

| | A lake nearby is Dead Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Weeks Brook Trail. Any time is a great time at Horseshoe Pond if you love the outdoors. There's delightful hiking along the Province Brook Trail; dry warm beds await you at Pleasant Mountain Inn. by Kezar Pond since you're here at Horseshoe Pond; it's close by, and if you came for an overnight stay Kezar Lake Camping Area is a splendid place to camp. At Horseshoe Pond throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and
the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Horseshoe Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Smarts Hill can be observed
from Horseshoe Pond, and whitewater paddling is great on Crooked River. Lakeside Pines Campground is a pleasant local campground, and the skiing at Shawnee Peak is great.
