There are pleasant locations to discover along the Arnold Pond Trail, and there are other sites here than Horseshoe Pond, for example Round Pond. A large amount of rain falls at Horseshoe Pond; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Saddleback around here, and swamps like Lower Hathan Bog close to Horseshoe       Pond make for splendid places to stop at. Going for a hike on the Arnold Trail is always a glorious adventure. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Horseshoe Pond has to offer, you can camp at Cupsuptic Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Dead River - North Branch offers some good whitewater. Do check out Arnold Pond Dam since you're here at Horseshoe Pond; you can go for a hike on the Morrell Trail. Don't try to stop                  me, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Horseshoe Pond. Stay the night at Cathedral Pines Camping Area, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Moose River - South Branch. Through the summertime at Horseshoe Pond highs are commonly in the 70's, and the night is a little colder of course, frequently in the 50's.
