Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Machias River, and the panoramas at Roosevelt Campobello International Park will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. Harmon Mountain is wonderful and can be distinguished from Horseshoe Lake, and Pug       Heath is an interesting swamp near Horseshoe Lake. Horseshoe Lake gets a great deal of water; November is the month that gets the most rain; June meanwhile is the driest month. At Horseshoe Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Horseshoe Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. And that's not all you can do here                  at Horseshoe Lake. There are other sites here than Horseshoe Lake, for example Bog Lake, and camping is available at Sunkhaze Campground. Why not camp at Sunkhaze Campground if you're here at Horseshoe Lake.
