While you're here at Horseshoe Lake you can take a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Machias River - West Branch. A good deal of precipitation falls at Horseshoe Lake; the month with most of the rain is November, and February is       when it's the driest. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area near Horseshoe Lake has to offer. Horseshoe Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Old Farm Inn is a perfect local campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Sysladobsis Lake. The panorama of Porcupine Mountain from Horseshoe Lake is beautiful, and a magnificent beach close by is Big Sand Beach. High temperatures                  at Horseshoe Lake during the long summer days are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Horseshoe Lake. The Frog is in close proximity and always great to stop at, and why not stop at close by Bottle Lake Stream while you're here at Horseshoe Lake.
