     Dead Stream is a delightful stream that is worth stopping at; you can take a little journey to Second Lake Dam since you're here at Horse Lake. Horse Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not pop by Third Lake in the neighborhood of Horse Lake, and camping at Keenes Lake Camping Grounds  
   is always a splendid experience. You truly have to go for Horse Lake. Soar down the rapids of Old Stream in a kayak.
The warmest time of the year at Horse Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Horse Lake drop into the 0's. Second Lake is a great lake in close proximity to Horse
 
               Lake, and a good location to camp here at Horse Lake is Big Lake Campground. Get dripping wet paddling on Machias River; dry warm beds await you at Bar Harbor Inn.

Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) . Hunting in that area was, should I say, productive . ...
