There's so much to do here at Hopkins Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Five Seasons Campground is a brilliant site for that, and do pop by Flying Pond, it's a gorgeous lake. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable things just keep reading. A wonderful nearby hotel is Winthrop Motel, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Sandy River. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Hopkins Pond you can see Bowen Hill, and do visit Flying Pond Dam

| | since you're here. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a wonderful place to spend a night or two; if you came to camp Camp Laurel is a nice spot to do that. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a nice hiking trail near Hopkins Pond, and getting to Hopkins Stream from Hopkins Pond is simple. During your trip to Hopkins Pond you'll meet some people from Augusta-Waterville for sure; you'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Minnehonk Lake. | |

Summer brings highs in the 70's to Hopkins Pond. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 20's; night lows at Hopkins Pond during the winter generally dip into the 0's. This
lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Wilson Stream, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Titcomb. Lots of rain falls at Hopkins Pond; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February.

Eaton Mountain
 | 23 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
