At Highland Lake Dam in close proximity to Highland Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Royal River. Highland Lake is not the only place nearby, Highland Lake is a nearby lake, and why not camp at Adventure Camp if you're here at Highland Lake. The Elms Bed and Breakfast is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Portland-South Portland here. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps are attention-grabbing spots and The Heath near Highland
Lake is no exception, and a brilliant spot for whitewater paddling is Chandler Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Jones Hill is clearly visible from Highland Lake, and pleasant skiing awaits you at Lost Valley. Much precipitation
falls at Highland Lake; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most; September meanwhile is the driest month. Looking for something near Highland Lake? Presumpscot River Reservoir is close by, and a quick spree to Small Brook is without doubt a great idea.

Very close to the Eastern Trail for a scenic hike of nature and wildlife. A tranquil setting but yet close to shopping, fine dining and the beach. Not many activities on site, but no noise either. Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site. Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season. Plenty to do in the area.... |
