Heron Lake is in close proximity and always glorious to explore, and Chase Rapids is always fun to check out. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in close proximity to Heron-Churchill Lakes. Dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake, and Heron-Churchill Lakes is right by the Chase Carry. High temperatures at Heron-Churchill Lakes throughout the long summer days are in the 70's while       night lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Heron-Churchill Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Allagash River for all you adrenaline people; do take a hike on the Telephone Trail. Not far from Heron-Churchill Lakes you get some tremendous water scenery at Heron Lake Dam; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Carry Trail. Some of the water nearby                  flows, like Harrow Brook; get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Smith Brook.
