While you're here at Haywire Pond, you could also go to gorgeous Lost Pond, and glide down the rapids of Mattawamkeag in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park is a great local campground, and you'll stumble on a wonderful lake called Molunkus Lake. Through the months of summer highs here at Haywire Pond reach the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Highs       through the wintertime are typically in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Haywire Pond. Haywire Pond in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. A typical amount of rain falls here at Haywire Pond; November is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn, and obviously Fourmile Brook is a striking stream that is worth checking out.
