Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a fine local campground; don't forget to take a great little tour to Fourmile Brook. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Haywire Pond get into the 70's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Haywire Pond. A normal amount of       precipitation falls here at Haywire Pond; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Katahdin Inn is a nice spot to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Macwahoc Stream.
