For the duration of the warm months, highs frequently are in the 70's at Hay Pond, and the overnight is a little colder of course, typically in the 50's. Deep Cove is close to Hay Pond and is a delightful place to check out, and glide       down the rapids of Millinocket Stream in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Hay Mountain is a peak you can see from Hay Pond. The amount of rain that falls at Hay Pond is close to the national average; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Some of the water close by flows, like Little Hay Brook; Hay Pond is not the only site nearby, Soper Logan is a nearby lake. Paddling                  on Penobscot River - East Branch is so much fun, and South Branch Pond Campground is a magnificent local campground. Going for a hike along the Spring Brook Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, unsurprisingly you could also visit Hay Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. If you came for an overnight stay Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a great location to camp, and hiking along the Jerry Pond Tote Road is splendid fun. This lake is so wonderful.
