     Maine has many beautiful lakes and Hay Pond is one of them. A tremendous location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Hay Pond is Millinocket Stream, and if you came for an overnight stay South Branch Pond Campground is a great spot to camp. Do pop by First Lake close to Hay Pond, it's a striking lake, and since you're here, do take a tour to Deep Cove. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Penobscot River - East Branch in the vicinity  
   of Hay Pond, and if you need a site to stay Katahdin Inn is a good choice.
A stunning lake like Grand Lake Matagamon near Hay Pond is a great site to check out; do take a hike on the Jerry Pond Tote Road. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Matagamon Tote Road; camping is available at Matagamon Wilderness Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Spring Brook Trail.

               so little time. The peak of Hay Mountain can be spotted from Hay Pond, and why not a little side trip to Little Hay Brook. From a rain point of view Hay Pond is a relatively normal site; the month with most of the rain is July while February is frequently the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Hay Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's while Hay Pond night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's.
