A lake close by is Boyd Pond, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to distinguish at New Harbor Pond Dam close to Hastings Pond. An afternoon playing golf at Wawenock Country Club is always a delight, and get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Damariscotta River. During the months of summer at Hastings Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the

| | 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Hastings Pond fall into the 0's. Sherwood Forest Campsite is a perfect local campground; during your stay here do check out close by Pemaquid Beach. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Hastings Pond. Little Falls Brook while you're here at Hastings Pond, and Linekin Bay Resort is a glorious location to get some rest. Hastings Pond frequently gets a lot of precipitation; November is the wettest month with most rain, and February
on the other hand is the driest. Pemaquid Point Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. Ross Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by; dry warm beds await you at Flagship Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike
on the Hockomock Nature Trail is always a fine adventure, and you might also want to pay a visit to Salt Pond Ledge if you're here at Hastings Pond.

Ocean wood Campground
 | 12 miles away I have been camping at Oceanwood for the last 3 or 4 years. It is by far the best ocean camping you can find in Maine by far. Spacious sites, peace and quiet, the ocean view is just plain beautiful. If you want a true Maine ocean camping experience, this is the spot....theres no place like it, that I know of. My wife and I first stayed at ocean wood over ten years ago. A friend told us about it. we are avid campers and have camped all over the U.S.A. we try to avoid campgrounds usually opting for back country camping because with the r.v. craze of late so many campgrounds have estentialy become glorified parking lots. this is not the case at ocean wood. the sites give a good sense of privacy and coexist with the natural surroundings almost seemlessly. ocean front sites are spectacular and give an opportiunity to experience maines downeast coast so personaly it becomes a part of you. We try to go each year and realy miss the place between visits. The owner and staff make you feel like a part of the family and we have never had a regret or even a hint of a problem. I wont go into descriptions of the natural beauty of the place because it is truly beyond that. if you know downeast maine, this is it. if you dont, ocean wood is the definition. ... |

Crushed, I mean extremely disappointed to find out it had gone out of business. We drove by as well to make sure it was closed. We couldn't quite believe it....This was great campground, but alas, it has been closed for a few years now. I think we camped there the last year they were open. We were very disappointed to find them out of business and even drove by once to really make sure they were closed.... |

You can obtain fire wood, ice and clams at the office as well as guest clam licenses for the adventurous would be clammer.
Wireless internet is available at no cost to the campers on Molly Point and the Orchard. If you happen to be in an area not served by the Wifi, the office and the gazebo are also hot spots.
