You can run the rapids of Machias River close to Harmon Lake; there's pleasant hiking along the Mud Hole Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Sunkhaze Campground is a pleasant campground nearby, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Great Brook Lake. That right there is loads       already, but it keeps on going; Harmon Lake has it all. The high level of rainfall makes Harmon Lake a reasonably wet place; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is June. For the period of the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 70's at Harmon Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come                  with lows in the 0's to Harmon Lake.
